Chris Tomlin is a famous Christian worship leader and songwriter whose songs are the most sung in Christian circles. He is a major icon in contemporary Christian music and his awesomeness is pretty obvious career-wise. However, there have been stories where fans got a chance to meet him personally and he turned out to be a major ass. In your encounter with Chris Tomlin, was he awesome or a douchebag? A friend of mine went into a public bathroom after seeing Chris Tomlin perform and happened to run across him inside of that bathroom. He tells Chris Tomlin, "Hey you did a great job out there." Chris Tomlin simply looked at him and walked away... Didn't even say thanks. In my opinion... That's a d-bag thing to do.
Couple of my friends and I (all guys) after a concert in NJ:
"Hey Chris! Do you think we could get a picture with you?"
"Sorry, I don't do pictures."
Later that evening we saw him taking pictures with a bunch of high school girls.
Moral of the story: Chris Tomlin - Douchebag and Pedophile.
I can't say I'm surprised he'd have his moments when he totally disses his fans. But ppl's experience with him shouldn't be different from any other musical artist whether they're a Christian or not....

We're not dissing on him because he's a christian artist and acts this way. We're calling him a douchebag only because he is a douchebag. Him being a christian artist has nothing to do with it. Just our opinions on one man.

I'm guilty of this, too..cause I know I find him to come off as cocky.
But if we're going to rebuke a brother for the sake of the gospel and God's glory...let's do it right and with love.
If you prove that he is a jerk..what is that going to do?
We all fall short of the glory of God and he needs grace, too.
i was in the women's room and saw chris tomlin walk into a stall. i waited for him to come out and when he did he was actually the lead singer of the dixie chicks. needless to say, my friend luke really wanted his autograph then... he hearts the dixie chicks (mind, body, and soul).
so, i guess that makes him a douchebag in my eyes... but awesome in my friend luke's heart.

Chris Tomlin stabbed me. Twice. He didn't even say "sorry".

as i'm reading these i find myself asking...'what's the point of this?' so what if he's a jerk in real life or not? being a public figure, let alone musician is an extremely stressful work. so, a) cut him some slack; b) don't go bloggin' about it just b/c you got dissed [maybe he just had a bad day or stressed out] - everyone's being such a cry baby. grow up, dudes.
one more thing - do you even know what the word 'douchebag' means? if you call yourself a christian, shouldn't you care about your own choice of words? there are sensitive people who might be offended by it - don't abuse your christian liberty. i'm more offended by this blog than some of ct's actions i read on the comments.
and no, as a christian musician, i'm no fan of ct as a matter of personal preference.
